POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our client a service, sales and installation business, is searching to
add locations to its existing business. You must be out of an industry
that is related to the plumbing industry. Strong emphasis on growing
the business sales and service contracts through residential and commercial
lines of business. The General Manager’s skills also require are
as follows:
• Direct the operations
in a manner designed to attain the margin contribution goals set forth
in the budgeting process
• Coordinate all activities
of each department in a reasonable way so the goals for profitability are
met on a consistent basis
• Make, or cause to be made,
policy on all operational areas vital to the company
• Represent our company
to the business and financial community
• Ensure the proper training
of all co-workers
• Coordinate the activities
of key personnel so cooperation is maintained and teamwork encouraged
• Develop and maintain a
clear organizational plan for business growth. Revise this plan periodically
based on the direction of growth and financial capabilities of the company.
• Plan, budget, purchase
and have available all the equipment and facilities needed for the profitable
operation of the company
• Assure that adequate warehousing
facilities are available for material and equipment
• Establish with the Sales
Leader, the long and short-term sales goals of the company
• Formulate or determine
that an overall marketing strategy exists which is designed to attain the
company’s sales goals
• Ascertain that pricing
procedures exist which are designed to cover overall costs and attain the
company’s gross margin goals
• Ensure that operations
are scheduled in a timely manner. Evaluate total hours scheduled
versus production hours available, weekly, for labour projections
• Assure the Production
Leader that the installations are of superior quality
• Ascertain with the Production
Leader if additional work crews are needed
• Review and analyze monthly
financial information and take corrective action, where necessary
• Take action required to
ensure overall company sales goals are met, keeping the company’s overall
financial capabilities in mind
• Commit to an ongoing effort
of self and formal education related to the field with special emphasis
on leadership, management, accounting, finance and financial matters.
The successful candidate must be available for out of town training in the U.S.A. and Canada for approximately 3 months. Must be willing to relocate to the area specified.
SALARY RANGE:
$60,000 to $73,000 plus bonus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in plumbing, security systems, heating, air conditioning or
cooling would be preferred.
EDUCATION: Business
Diploma, Finance, or a B.A. in Business
EXPERIENCE:
3 – 5 years as a General Manager with business experience.
