He saves hiring managers time and money and presents extraordinary candidates that fit with each client’s unique culture. He enjoys coaching people and helping them manage career transitions successfully.
After graduating from the Schulich School of Business, with an MBA in Marketing and MIS, he started his IT Sales career at IBM. As Automotive Industry Manager he successfully met a $ 4.5 million target by selling 55 auto dealers IBM software and systems. As Country Manager for Network Appliance, he created a new channel program and built this start-up data storage company in Canada from $ 500 K to $ 5.0 million revenue in five years. As Product Manager for the StorageTek V960 virtual disk system he sold a $ 1.0 million replicated Mainframe storage system to CDS and a $ 1.5 million replicated tape library system to the Ontario Lottery Corporation.
At CGI Group he successfully sold professional services for systems integration, IT Outsourcing, data center hosting, managed services and SAP/Oracle support to Retail, Manufacturing and Hi-Tech industries. He also sold agile software development projects to both public and private sector clients. Hugh has recruited and placed technical specialists at Financial Services clients and to the Ontario Government under the task based vendor of record.
When he is not searching for great talent, he enjoys golfing, skiing, biking and racing sailboats. An avid sports fan, he will wait as long as it takes for the Jays, Leafs and Raptors to win a championship title. As a high school football “star” he was nicknamed Mercury Morris. At the “pinnacle” of his football career he scored a 2 point conversion in the City championships for the Lawrence Park Panthers. He enjoys monitoring Tech stocks and trading options for fun and profit.
